It is a property that belongs, for more than 50 years, to a family group called today Alvarez Londoño and Company SCA; registered in the Chamber of Commerce and before the state authorities.
Rancho Grande has an area of 1,017 hectares (2,513 acres) with 95% of flat land.

It borders the road with La Cordialidad (joins Barranquilla and Cartagena) in an area of 3.75 kms (2.3 miles); this road is paved and by the end of 2017 will be dual carriageways (4 lanes).

On the opposite side of the road, inside the land, it borders with La Cienega del Guájaro (25,000 hectares / 61,776 acres of water supply dam).

Main facilities and camps are equipped with three phase and single phase electricity; posses irrigation channels which are connected to La Cienega del Guájaro through a 12 “and 6” main water pumps.

Its main operation is livestock (milk, lift and fattening) but we have had successful crops thanks to the quality of its soil in orange, corn, sorghum, watermelon, cassava, cotton, among others.

Flowing water from a 4,500 hectares (11,119 acres) basin runs through Rancho Grande. This can can be used wholly or partially since right after us is La Cienega (the water dam). A big dam would need to be built in order to store rainwater and if this should fail, there is always the option of pumping water of the dam.

The average rainfall in the last 20 years is 950 mm, and it counts with 12 hours of daylight.

Rancho Grande is 50 minutes away from Barranquilla and Cartagena ports and airports. It is basically in the center of the 2 cities.
